A new Danish observatory on a remote island in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean will provide researchers with new knowledge about the mysterious irregularity of the Earth’s magnetic field known as the South Atlantic Anomaly

Gillian Merron, Overseas Territories Minister, hosted the tenth meeting of the Overseas Territories Consultative Council (OTCC) on 28 and 29 October 2008 at the Department for Business, Enterprise and Regulatory Reform in London. Premiers, Chief Ministers, Councillors and other representatives from Britain's Overseas Territories attended. The Gough Island Nature Reserve, along with Inaccessible Island in the Tristan da Cunha Group of islands, forms one of the United Kingdom's few natural sites registered with the World Heritage Convention.

10: Ken Rogers Obituary - Tristan (People) - 02.11.2008
It is with sadness that we report the death of Ken Rogers. He was admitted to hospital, after having a fall that broke his hip, and died on the 24th October.
