The Baltic Trader carrying the last of the islands cargo for 2009 arrived on Friday the 4th November, from Cape Town.

The Baltic Trader carrying the last of the islands cargo for 2009 arrived on Friday the 4th November, from Cape Town.  Onboard was the Doctor his wife and other Tristanians, and an engineer to look at the Fishery Patrol Boat.  The vessel completed unloading on Saturday evening, and is now busy loading lobster product from the Factory.


 


On completion she will collect Prof Peter Ryan, another field worker and their equipment, from Inaccessible Island.  Whilst transferring lobster product from the M.V. Edinburgh before departing for Cape Town.


 


Half of the contract workers that come on her in October to help build the Post Office and Police Station will be returning to Cape Town and the other half will complete the Police Station and return on the first vessel in the New Year.


 


The Baltic Trader is due to arrive in Cape Town around the 15th December
