NEW CHIEF ISLANDER FOR TRISTAN

By J. Brock (SARTMA-TdC)

James Glass has stepped down to spend more time with his family.

Mrs. Joseph Green (Anne) has taken over as Chief Islander, replacing James Glass, who has stepped down after nine years in the post. Mr. Glass stepped down because he wanted to have more time for himself and his family.  She was elected on October 27th.

Mrs. Green has been was Chief Islander in the early ‘90s before James Glass had returned with his family from the Falklands and the UK.  Both James Glass and Anne Green, brother and sister, spent some of their young lives in the Falkland Islands after the October 1961 volcano on Tristan.
