The Fishing season increase in catches over the last two months and the TAC (Total Allowable Catch) caught for the 2007/08 season to date stands at 148,330kgs, which has been caught in 28 fishing days.   There was a slow start to the season, with no fish being landed in the first month of July, although fishing increased later in the year and now the balance of the TAC 36,670kgs remains to be caught when the factory reopens in the New Year.

There was a visit from Ovenstone managers and they were able to see the factory and fishing in operation, as well as speak to the staff and community about the relationship between the company and the island.

The factory staff like all other Government Departments will go on a three week Christmas holiday from Friday the 14th December.
