Tristan : Crèche & Day Care Centre opens.
Submitted by Tristan Times (Sarah Glass) 12.09.2007 (Article Archived on 26.09.2007)

A new day care for children has opened on Tristan

Crèche & Day Care Centre opens.

With Tristans very small work force (149 in Government, 23 in Lobster Factory) and many mothers wishing to work fulltime, it has been decided by the Island Council that a Crèche & Day Care Centre should be established.  This opened on Monday the 3rd September headed by former Nurse Hilary Rogers and assisted by Care Assistant Maureen Green and Playgroup Teacher Sheila Glass.

This facility offers full day care for infants and children under two, and for children aged three to five half days, when not attending the Playgroup.
