The MV Edinburgh arrived at Tristan on Wednesday 30th May at 8.00pm. Onboard were passengers Adrian and Sammy Swain who were both away on training at St Helena since last year (November), Albert Glass was in Cape Town for medical treatment accompanied by his wife Rose Glass, Rodney Green, Terence Green and his son Dominic Green was also away for medical treatment.

The community also looks forward to welcoming a new Anglican priest, Father Christopher Brown, this will be his first visit to Tristan, although he has been to St Helena as a priest, other visitors are Eva Alexandra Neitzer and Felicia Robinson.

After departing Cape Town the vessel went to Gough Island first to drop off two South African researches Ross Wanless and Martin Slabber who will be working on the eradication of an alien grass.

The Edinburgh is also carrying eight bags of mail for the island and is loaded with general cargo. However due to bad weather conditions she has been unable to unload any passengers or cargo, the islanders are hoping that the weather will improve and that the  vessel will get unloaded at the weekend.
