Submitted by Tristan Times (Juanita Brock) 27.09.2005 (Article Archived on 11.10.2005)

Tristan's women have been on strike since 12 September and will not go back until they get the cost-effective pay deal they want.

TRISTAN:  WOMEN REJECT LATEST PAY OFFER

By J. Brock (SARTMA-TdC)

Part time workers at Tristan da Cunha’s lobster factory are still out on strike, with the latest offer made to them by the Company Rep at 1100 on Monday being rejected by them all.  The women all went home.

Monday was a fishing day and 4,414 KG of lobster were landed but placed into holding tanks until the women’s pay demands can be settled.
