Tristan’s Fisheries Patrol boat, which has been sitting out of the water at Calshot Harbour, will be having a refit soon.  News from the Island states that money for the refit has been granted by the UK.

It had been expected that Wavedancer would be refit in South Africa but thanks to Falkland Islands Holdings Plc, the vessel will be hoisted aboard M/V Marianne Danica and transported to the United Kingdom.  The work will be done at the Halmatic Shipyard in the UK.

The Marianne Danica left the Falkland Islands on 10 April and it is expected to arrive in Tristan around the 18th.  When the vessel leaves Tristan, Joe Green, husband of Chief Islander Anne Green, will accompany Wave Dancer and oversee the refit.  Anne will join him in the autumn when she attends the Overseas Territories Consultative Council Meeting in London.
