Tristan : Gough Island Weather Station to Get New Roof
Submitted by Tristan Times (Juanita Brock) 27.07.2004 (Current Article)

After several months under tarpaulin, residents of the Gough Island Weather Station can expect a new roof.

GOUGH ISLAND WEATHER STATION TO GET NEW ROOF

By J. Brock (SARTMA-TDC)

The roof, which blew off the Weather Station on Gough Island, is soon to be replaced.  Until now, a tarpaulin has been placed over the exposed section, which suffered damage in November 2003 when 70 knot winds hit the Island.

S.A. Agulhas will drop a team of Public Works Department employees off on Gough Island on 10th September. It is not known whether that ship or another one will pick them up again when the work is completed.
