FINN would like to acknowledge that USGS has changed their algorithm to reflect the names of the Islands in the South Atlantic Ocean.

RECENT REGIONAL SEISMIC ACTIVITY A Compilation by J Brock (FINN) FINN would like to acknowledge that USGS has changed their algorithm to reflect the names of the Islands in the South Atlantic Ocean. However, they still tag those Islands with St Helena, even though Ascension Island is 780 (approximately) miles from St Helena and Tristan da Cunha is 1300 miles (approximately) from St Helena. Further to this, FINN would like to acknowledge that while the population of Tristan da Cunha is recognised at 271, there is a failure in the USGS algorithm to recognise the Falkland Islands or their 3,000 people, even though the location in all instances is closer to seismic events in the South Georgia and South Sandwich Islands than any population centre on the South American Coast.
